    Description

    This is a very ornate double action lever type doorbell in near mint condition. The bell rings once as the lever is pulled and again as it is released. The bell could also be used with a "pull" from the top of the bell. The lever is also mounted on center to the bell where most bells are offset.
    The 4 1/2" diameter bell is made of brass with a polished finish. The back plate is made of cast iron. The equally attractive handle is made of brass and is about 2 1/4 by 4 3/4" long. The bell should fit a door up to 2+ inches thick
    . There are no markings on the bell but it is probably from the late 1870's.
