Keep in mind that these two setups are not exclusive (there are many ways to  profitably use the WaveTrend).  I often have students and customers  show me unique ways to trade the WaveTrend that I never thought of... (and  some are quite impressive), but here are the two I use most frequently...
Validate Each WaveTrend Signal by Waiting for Price to Make the First Move     into the
Intended Direction Prior to Entry.  If price does not validate by  moving in our direction
within FIVE candles, we ignore cancel the order and ignore the signal.
This is my favorite entry due to its nearly 90% accuracy in triggering  accurate reversals.
Each WaveTrend Signal is  confirmed with a BullsEye color change within +/- two candles.
After the BullsEye  confirmation, this trade is entered immediately with a Market order.

The two validation methods noted above will keep you out the
majority of signals which fail, however, it is  always best to exercise
caution with counter-trend considerations during strong markets.

strong trending and/or momentum moves.  It is  during these times,  when you should be
