Watkins WEM "Custom Copicat" Vintage Tube Tape Delay (Fully Refurbished)

Description

This unit has been fully restored and refurbished. All electrolytic capacitors were swapped for Nichicons and all other capacitors were swapped for high fidelity film caps. All three tubes are original, as best I can tell, and tested strong. I oiled the motor and cleaned the drive shaft. Cleaned all the heads and checked for alignment. Cleaned the buttons and knobs. The original output connector was broken so I installed a new Neutrik connector. The footswitch is original and works as expected. I cut a new tape loop that sounds good and more tape loops can be found at various outlets online.
Cosmetically the unit is a little bumped and bruised and can be seen in the photos. The top of the case is missing unfortunatly but that doesn't affect the performace. The echo button has a crack in it but it doesnt affect its fubctionality.
I give it a 10/10 for functionality and 6/10 for cosmetics.
All in all for a 60+ year old tape delay its in pretty good shape.
